One of the best things about Singapore, where we spent Christmas, is the abundance of delicious food in every variety one can imagine. Needless to say a lot of my images of the city are food-related. The result: either my clothes have shrunk or I have gained some weight over there. Luckily there’s an abundance of tailors too: I wonder if they’ve got a deal going on?

January 23rd, 2008politicians can… #1

Why, obviously, they can. Have fun, that is. They are human, you know? These particular politicians, both world-famous in the Netherlands, would be Bert Koenders on the left, Dutch Minister for Development Cooperation, and Aart Jan de Geus, currently Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD. They met last night in Paris where Koenders received a decoration from the French. Another, more formal portrait was published in Dutch daily De Telegraaf.

January 9th, 2008sunrise in paradise

Happy New Year! What better way to start 2008 with an image I shot just before Christmas on the tropical island of Ko Yao Noi (Thailand). Sunrises like this one greeted us each and every day while sitting in front of the little villa we rented at the (warning: shameless plug coming up) wonderful Ko Yao Island Resort. Fading away in the distance are the many limestone cliffs and islands of Phang Nga bay. Needless to say we had a wonderful time.
