July 29th, 2007fire in the sky

Some of you may remember Deodato and his 1984 hit ‘S.O.S. Fire in the Sky’. Well, he must have been in Paris to get the inspiration for the song. This was shot out of our window tonight, when the sunset turned a cloudy sky into one big colorful burst of flames. For the sceptics: I didn’t alter anything in the original image. Nature is a better artist than me.

July 22nd, 2007pension plan

Ok, so I live in a big city. And big cities are full of street artists, so they don’t surprise me any more. Or do they? This elderly couple, playing violin on a bridge over the Seine river, certainly managed to draw a lot of attention and left me wondering about France’s pension system. On the other hand, they might own a castle and this could actually be a genuine Stradivarius…

July 7th, 2007oh happy date #3

Hardcore brides & grooms choose a magical date. Like this longtime friend and ex-colleague of mine who got married on this day filled with lucky numbers: 07-07-07. I’m just glad they didn’t decide to get married at 07:07 AM, which according to television some others did. With those numbers they probably don’t need my best wishes but here’s to you all the same!

July 2nd, 2007namibia #2

As promised, more from Namibia. I’m kind of busy shooting weddings and have a webdesign project going on so I’m running behind schedule on this Namibia gallery thing… Anyway, I have narrowed the choice down to some 150 images which is pretty good considering I had 1049 to start with, but I won’t bother you with all of them. This, another favorite, is a close-up of one of the sand dunes near Sossusvlei just after sunrise.
